Irrigation water shortage is severe in North China Plain: however, livestock breeding farms have developed rapidly which generates a large number of livestock wastewater in this region. The majority wastewater without any treatment before discharging had caused serious pollution. Based on the swine wastewater treatment plant and the irrigation experiment of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) - summer maize (Zea mays L.) rotation conducted in Yangliuqing town. Tianjin. Parameters of Root Zone Water Quality Model (RZWQM) were calibrated and validated with obtained field data. The Root Mean Square Errors (RMSEs) of water contents and nitrate-N concentrations were at the range of 0.5% similar to 0.6% and 16.95 similar to 28.95 mg kg(-1), respectively. REs of wheat and maize yields and biomass were at the range of -16.1% similar to 10.53% and -48.17% similar to 13.19%, respectively. Compared with the former literatures, RZWQM model could simulate the soil moisture and nutrient dynamics and crop yield with swine wastewater irrigation in North China Plain. It could provide technical support for rational reuse swine wastewater resources. The pattern of treated livestock wastewater irrigation would not only alleviate the shortage of water resources and reduce the application of chemical fertilizers, but also control intensive livestock wastewater pollution effectively.
